The Maromaku war memorial hall was opened 27 August 1954. The memorial tablet inside lists 27 names from the First World War, 29 names from the Second World War and two ‘J’ Force names. The school next door also has a roll of honour. This lists 36 names: ‘Old Boys of the Maromaku School Who Fought in the Great World War.’
