NZEF Advance Guard in Wellington

The official farewell for the 'Advance Guard' or 'Advance Party' of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force at the Basin Reserve, Wellington on 14 August 1914. Although they didn't yet know it, these soldiers were members of the force that would seize German Samoa on 29 August.
