Maori (Pioneer) Battalion haka, 1918

Members of the New Zealand Maori (Pioneer) Battalion perform a haka for Deputy Prime Minister Sir Joseph Ward at Bois-de-Warnimont, France, 30 June 1918. The haka introduced Māori custom and practice into the New Zealand armed services, and their use grew during the conflicts of the 20th century.
