Peter Snell and Murray Halberg win Olympic gold

Listen to a radio commentary of the gold medal runs by Peter Snell (800 m) and Murray Halberg (5000 m) at the 1960 Rome Olympics. Halberg's victory followed just half an hour after Snell's, completing New Zealand's finest day on the Olympic track.

Had absolutely no idea you could access this online - only found it because I’m helping grandchildren with miniature scenes for Pet Day - olympics are this year’s topic - great opportunity to show them how you got information pre- tv & devices - sure the fact that I was in tears reliving it will help them remember - what a wonderful day that was - pre-drugs & pre-professionalism too!
