Elizabeth Wallace was born about 1847 in Rothesay, Buteshire, Scotland.
She married Anthony Young, a limestone miner, on 23 November 1869 in Lanarkshire – they had no children.
In 1874 they emigrated to Otago on the Invercargill and they settled in Milton where Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition and Anthony was a colliery lessee.
In 1913 Elizabeth was suffering from cancer when she had an operation in the Dunedin Hospital.
She died on 12 February from heart failure after an anaesthetic.
Anthony died in 1915, they are buried in the Fairfax Cemetery, Milton.
