Wilhelmina Dawson was born in 1852 in New Zealand – the daughter of William Dawson and Mary Troupe.
She married Archibald McKellar, a telegraphist, on 11 April 1873 at her home 'Mary Bank', Long Bush, Southland.
They had eight children, one who died in infancy and they lived, at first, in Winton before being transferred to Duntroon then to Outram, West Taieri where Wihelmina signed the suffrage petition and Archibald held the position of postmaster.
Archibald retired in 1908 and they moved to Dunedin where Wilhelmina died on 27 April 1917 and Archibald died in 1933.
They are buried in the family grave in the West Taieri Cemetery.
