Paulina Theodora Adelgard Leight was born in 1845 in Wellington – the daughter of John Henry Leight, a butcher, and Maria Barbara.
She married Peter Dorreen, a farmer, on 4 February 1864 in St Paul’s, Thorndon.
They had, at least, eight children and lived at Hampden north of Dunedin.
Paulina signed the suffrage petition at nearby Palmerston.
Peter died in 1896 and Paulina died in February 1922, they are buried in the Hampden Cemetery.
