Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Martha Rose Graham was born in 1872 in New Zealand – the daughter of John Graham and Grace Black King.

She married Francis John O’Meara, a clerk, on 23 November 1898 at St Joseph’s Cathedral, Dunedin.

'After the ceremony a few of the immediate friends and relatives of the happy couple adjourned to the residence of the bride’s mother in Stafford street, where a wedding breakfast was partaken of. Mr and Mrs O’Meara left by this afternoon’s train for Christchurch en route for Auckland, where they will reside.'

They had a son in 1902 – Martha died at her home in Auckland on 15 January 1935, she is buried in the Hillsborough Cemetery.

Francis re-married the following year to Martha’s sister (See 90 A Graham). He died in 1954 and is buried in the Waikumete Cemetery.
