The Tākaka Memorial Park opened in October 2015 on the site of the old Tākaka Memorial Library.

The park’s design was a collaborative project between the Golden Bay Returned and Services Association, Tasman District Council, Golden Bay Community Board, and local Iwi Manawhenua ki Mohua. The roll of honour plaques in the park replaced those installed at the new Tākaka Memorial Library in 2008, which had contained errors.

The original marble war memorial plaques remain in the foyer of the Tasman District Council Tākaka office.
