Featherston Camp panorama

The Public Works Department built Featherston Camp in late 1915 and early 1916. This vast complex, with electricity, running water and metalled roads, was the Defence Department’s answer to the Trentham debacle. At Featherston recruits could be trained safely with everything they needed at hand.
