Awahou roll of honour

The Awahou roll of honour is a wooden tablet that was unveiled at Awahou North School in 1919. It lists the names of 35 former pupils of the school, including one nurse (E. Neilson), and of four other men from the district, who all served in the First World War. After the Second World War a small plaque was added with ten more names. The roll of honour is housed in the former St Aidan’s Anglican church, which was moved to the school from Awahou South in 1967, for use by a playgroup.
