Can anyone tell me how to discover the full first names of the fallen listed on the Picton war memorial? For example, one of the WW1 fallen was Jas.A.Godfrey but a search using incomplete first names does not work on the online cenotaph.

I was one of the soldiers on cenotaph guard in the photo. We had intensive drill practice with the late SSgt John Bull (ex Malaya vet) ensuring we got it right. He repeatedly told us that as this was for the 'boys', "near enough is not bloody good enough", something I remember every ANZAC day since...

Hello my name is carolyn Hemi-Macdonald my fathers name was Jack Henry Hemi serial no 39001 28th Maori Battalion He came from waikawa bay .My grandad was Edwin Hemi of waikawa road Picton.
