
The Gordon First World War roll of honour (‘GORDON ROLL OF HONOUR 1916 – 1919’) on display in the Firth Tower Museum is a framed honours board inset with photographs of the following servicemen: Private George Orr, Sergeant Major I.J. Cowan, Private Handel Grigg, Private John Foster, Private A. Jackson, Private J. Montague, Trooper A.H. Watford, Sergeant Frederick Downard, Private [I.] J. Maisey, Private Joseph Orr, [Trooper] H. Smith, Private F. Montague, Private J. Roxborough, Private A. Orr, [Private] Thomas Maisey, Private Joseph Clark, Private Samuel Barr, Private P. Sheehan, [Trooper] E. Smith and Private V. Brooks.
The museum also displays the Turanga-o-Moana [‘Turanga O’Moana’] First and Second World War rolls of honour. The former is a framed and decorated honours board listed 30 local men who served. The Second World War roll of honour lists the names of 26 men who served, including three who died.
