The roll of honour in the Ōpōtiki RSA lists 100 men from the district who died in the First World War and 82 men who died in the Second World War. The First World War roll of honour includes the name of D.C. Savage, who became better known as Dick Travis V.C. (note his surname is misspelt 'Travers' on the roll of honour board).
