Pongakawa memorial gates

The Pongakawa School memorial gates were unveiled on 19 July 1929. The two plain concrete pillars supported a wrought iron gate. Black granite plaques on the pillars listed the names of 11 local men who had given their lives. The gates were restored in 2013.
