A pouwhenua commemorating men who served in D Company, 28th (Māori) Battalion.

The pou is a constant reminder to New Zealand of the sacrifice Māori gave in the First and Second World Wars as well as the other memorials erected to honour the New Zealand Armed Services of the Army, Navy and Air Force.

The pou was unveilled at a dawn ceremony on 7 November 2021.
