St Margarets memorial church, Te Puia.

N.A. Lesser, Bishop of Waiapu, opened St Margaret’s Church, in the isolated East Coast settlement of Te Puia Springs, on 8 February 1956. The church was dedicated to the memory of two local men who had been killed during the Second World War: brothers Arnold K. B. Williams and Heathcoate H.B. Beale, who had farmed at Puketiti Station, and whose mother, Ema Reremoana Williams (nee Brown, formerly Beale), was instrumental in having the church built.
