Wood engraving of the prophet Tohu Kākahi of Te Āti Awa. The engraving was made by John P. Ward in Nelson in 1883.
Tohu Kākahi and Te Whiti-o-Rongomai led the passive resistance movement at Parihaka. Both men were arrested following the infamous raid on the community by colonial troops in 1881.
