Those 4 Brennan brothers were my great great uncles. My great grandmother, their sister, lived until she was 92. Tragically she also lost her first love, her fiance, at the Western Front. I was honoured to see the last letter she received from him, when she was only 19. I was also honoured to inherit her ring, which was passed down to me through my grandmother. My father and uncle remember seeing the letter the family received from King George V thanking them for their sacrifice, but unfortunately that apprars to have been lost.
