The Pāpāmoa war memorial is one of New Zealand's most recently constructed civic war memorials. The three-metre high black granite obelisk was unveiled in the Pāpāmoa Domain on Armistice Day 2018. A flagpole was added to the site the following year. The landscaping of the vicinity was completed in 2021.

The roll of honour inscribed on one face of the obelisk initially listed just three names: Rifleman Alfred J.S. Harris (d. 7 June 1917), Private Tiaki Wepiha (d. 29 November 1917) and Sergeant Pilot Blyth Kempton-Werohia (d. 14 August 1942). Six more names were later added: Second Lieutenant George A. Asher (d. 19 February 1944), Korean War serviceman Gunner Wallace B. Dickson (d. 4 October 1951), Lance Corporal Daniel A. Flanagan (d. 6 June 1995), Vietnam War veterans Sergeant Honiana (Jack) N. Te Kani (d. 6 December 2007) and Private David J.R. Mikaere (d. 27 October 2017), and Private Thomas Bridger Wharepapa (d. 12 December 1943).
