The picturesquely sited Anglican church at Raukōkore in the eastern Bay of Plenty displays a marble war memorial plaque in the nave. Erected by Na O Raua Hoa Young Peoples Club in March 1946, this commemorates Rangi Tawhai, killed in North Africa on 26 March 1943, and Rutangi Whenua Peta, killed in Italy on 11 April 1945.
