Lily Rees (seated right with her mother) and her family, date unknown. Lily was one of the 20 New Zealand women selected to work as teachers for the Boer children living in concentration camps in South Africa. Her father, William Lee Rees, was a prominent lawyer and Liberal politician, while her sister Rosemary became a well-known actress, novelist and theatre producer.
