Lilias Mary Barclay was born in New Zealand in 1872 – the daughter of James Barclay, a publican, and Margaret Stirling, who also signed the petition.
She married Harry Robert Tucker on 24 May 1899 at Knox Church, Dunedin. The had two sons before, in 1905, Harry died in England.
Lilias re-married in 1908 to Henry James White.
She died on 30 November 1947 at Opotiki and is buried in the Opotiki Cemetery. Her sister, Lilas Mary Barclay, also signed the petition.
