Isabella McKenzie was born about 1846 in Perthshire, Scotland, she married Walter Stewart Brydone, a farmer’s son, on 22 June 1869 in Blair Atholl, Perthshire.
They had six children which included two sets of twins before they emigrated to New Zealand in the 1880s.
They settled in Dunedin and when Isabella signed the suffrage petition they were living in Havelock St, Mornington and Walter was working as a farm manager.
Isabella died on 25 November 1904 while on a visit to Sumner near Christchurch.
Walter died in 1911 and they are buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
