Biography contributed by Helen Edwards.

Margaret Anne/Annie Walls was born in New Zealand in 1865 to Caroline and James Walls. She married William Joseph Davie, a tailor, in Otago in 1887. William was born in Hobart in 1858 and emigrated about 1874 with his siblings and parents, Maria Lydia Page and George Davie, a miner. Between 1887 and 1910 Margaret and William had eight children. Directories list them in Church Street, Roslyn (now Nairn Street) from about 1884 and they were still at 52 Nairn Street when they died, Margaret Anne in 1945 and William in 1946. She was 80 years old. They are buried together in Andersons Bay Cemetery. Margaret’s sister-in-law, Sarah Davie, living two blocks away in Forth Street, Roslyn, signed Sheet 114.
