Mary Easton was born on 9 September 1871 in Stirlingshire, Scotland – the daughter of Nisbet Easton, a coal miner, and Isabella Campbell. (See 101 Isabella Easton)
She emigrated to Otago in 1882 on the Timaru with her family and they settled at Fairfield where Mary signed the suffrage petition.
Mary married Robert McAdam, a pastrycook, on 24 October 1898 at her home in Green Island and they had three daughters.
Robert died in 1935 and Mary died in Dunedin on 17 March 1952 – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
