Annie Fraser Finlayson was born in 1866 in New Zealand – the daughter of Roderick Finlayson and Jane/Jean McLennan.
Annie’s father ran a shop at Blueskin near Dunedin and a shop at Waitati. He drowned in December 1877 while bathing in Blueskin Bay. Her mother carried on running the shops until about 1890 when the family moved to Dunedin. Annie did not marry.
Annie lived in Dunedin until her death on 14 August 1949. She was cremated and her ashes buried in the Waitati Cemetery.
