Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Ellen Letitia Fox was born in 1867 in the Queenstown Goldfields – the daughter of William Graham Fox, a police constable, and Letitia Smith Wightman (See 354 Mrs William Graham Fox).

When Ellen signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Earne St, Invercargill.

She married William Courier Anderson, a farmer, in 1911 – they do not appear to have had any children.

Ellen died on 5 December 1942 and William died in 1949, they are buried in the Fox family grave in the Invercargill Eastern Cemetery.
