Agnes Gawn was born in 1871 in New Zealand – the daughter of Robert Gawn, a farmer, and Martha Ann McConnell.
When she signed the suffrage petition Agnes was living with her family at Deer Park Farm near Mosgiel.
She married Farmer Charles Findlay, also a farmer, on 26 January 1899 at her home.
They had four children and lived at North Taieri.
Agnes died on 7 February 1950 and Charles died in 1953 – they are buried in the family grave in the East Taieri Cemetery.
