Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Charlotte Woolger was born about 1849 in England and, in 1869, she married Frank Gillam in Brighton, Sussex.
They had a daughter before they emigrated to New Zealand in about 1871.
Nine more children were born in New Zealand, the last in 1892. When Charlotte signed the suffrage petition the family was living in Great King St, Dunedin and Frank was working as a builder.
Frank died in 1928 and Charlotte on 6 November 1942. They are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
