Margaret Greig was born in New Zealand in 1869, the daughter of David Greig and Isabella Harvey.
When she signed the suffrage petition, Margaret was living with her family in South Dunedin and working as a dressmaker. Her mother, Isabella, and sister, Isabella, also signed the petition.
