Margaret Hervey/Harvey was born about 1833 in Scotland — she married William Henderson in Victoria, Australia in 1854.
They had three daughters before they travelled to New Zealand in about 1861, two further children were born after their arrival.
The family settled at Highcliff on the Otago Peninsula near Dunedin.
William died at their home in 1878, at the age of 48.
Margaret died on 24 March 1901, she is buried with William in the family grave in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
