Mary Wilson was born about 1849 in Scotland.
She came to New Zealand in the mid 1880s with her son David and she married Nils Jepson, a widower on 2 March 1885 in the Waihola Parish south of Dunedin.
When Mary signed the suffrage petition she was living in Dundas St, Dunedin working as a tailoress.
Nils died in 1915 and Mary died at her home on 26 November 1916, they are buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
