Ann Carmichael was born about 1840 – she married Christian William Kleeber, a seaman, in 1862 in New Zealand.

They had 12 children, one who died in infancy, and when Ann signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Hull St, Oamaru.

Christian died at his home in 1897, he is buried in the Oamaru Cemetery.

Ann died in Dunedin on 12 August 1906, she is buried with their son in the Southern Cemetery, Dunedin.
