Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Jane Eaglesham was born in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland about 1833.
She married Johnston Love, a sailor, on 27 January 1854 in Paisley and they had seven children, one who died in infancy.
In 1876 Jane, with her six remaining children, emigrated to Canterbury on the Jessie Osborne. Johnston possibly worked his passage around this time.
The family settled in Dunedin where Johnston worked for the railways and, when Jane signed the suffrage petition, they were living in Forth St, Linden, Roslyn.
Johnston died in the Dunedin Hospital in 1911 and Jane died on 2 November 1915.
They are buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
