Alison Robertson Meikle was born in 1869 in New Zealand, the daughter of Robert Meikle, a contractor, and Margaret Miller McIntosh.
When she signed the suffrage petition, Alison was living in Russell St with her family working as a milliner. Her mother Margaret and sister Katherine also signed the petition.
She did not marry.
Alison died on 24 September 1955 in Dunedin. She is buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
