Jeannie/Janet Callander was born in 1851 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Callander, a farmer, & Janet Cutherbertson.

In 1878 Jeannie married David Miller, a grocer & widower with 6 children.

They had a son the following year & when Jeannie signed the suffrage petition they were living in William St, North East Valley, Dunedin.

David died in 1923 & Jeannie died on November 2nd 1938, they are buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
