Frances Mary Kelly was born about 1853.
She married John Barnett Neale, a blacksmith, in 1873 in Central Otago.
They had four children and lived in Arrowtown, Outram and Dunedin where John worked as a miner then a mine manager.
When Frances signed the suffrage petition she was living in South Dunedin.
John died in Coolgardie, Western Australia in 1906 – he is buried in the Coolgardie Cemetery.
Frances remained in Dunedin, when she died on 1 December 1934 three of her children had predeceased her.
Frances is buried with two of her children in the St Johns Anglican Cemetery, Waikouaiti.
