Lizzie/Elizabeth Paul was born in 1867 in New Zealand, the daughter of William Paul, a carter, and Elizabeth Porter.
She grew up in Palmerston in North Otago where she signed the suffrage petition.
Elizabeth married Charles Lowen Cook, a coal miner, in 1893 and they had 5 children.
Charles died at their home in 1931 and Elizabeth died on June 10th 1952. They are buried together in the Palmerston Cemetery.
