Catherine Mary Power was born about 1844.
In 1880 she arrived in Otago on the Mataura with her husband Martin and their 3 children.
They settled in North Otago and had a further 3 children, one who died in infancy.
When Catherine signed the suffrage petiton they were living in Palmerston and Martin was working as a coal merchant.
She died at her home on May 11th 1909 and Martin died in 1911. They are buried in the Palmerston Cemetery.
