Elizabeth Sheeran was born on 18 June 1860 at Hawick, Roxburghshire, Scotland – the daughter of Michael Sheeran, a pawnbroker, and Sarah Gilligan.
In 1884 Elizabeth arrived in Otago on the Victory with her mother, two siblings and a cousin. Her father had presumably come earlier.
Elizabeth did not marry. She died on 2 August 1912 and is buried in a family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
