Mary Ann Murdoch was born in Australia about 1857 - she came to New Zealand about 1866.
Mary married Edwin Henry Stallard, a labourer, on 13 November 1878 in Dunedin.
They had no children and when she signed the suffrage petition Mary was living in Cumberland St, Dunedin.
Edwin died in 1922 and Mary died on 10 October 1941, they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
