Eliza Jane Thomson was born in 1867 in New Zealand – the daughter of Alexander Thomson, a plumber, and Christina McAuslan. (See 64 Christina Thomson)
When she signed the suffrage petition Liza was living with her family in Andersons Bay Rd, Dunedin working as a machinist.
She married James John Schofield on 31 December 1901 in Dunedin, they had no children.
Liza died on 28 July 1918, she is buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
James remarried and he died in 1938, he is buried with his second wife in the Green Island Cemetery.
