Ethel Scott Worthington was born on 7 February 1864 in Queenstown, Otago – the daughter of John Scott Worthington, a gold receiver, and Mary Eliza Susannah Norton.
Ethel married Edward Trythall, a land agent, in 1891 – they had no children.
When Ethel signed the suffrage petition they were living in High St, Caversham, Dunedin.
Edward died in 1922 and Ethel died on 25 January 1956, they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
