Josephine Walsham was born in 1867 in New Zealand – the daughter of Joseph Walsham, a labourer, and Fanny Carson. (See 98 Fanny Walsham)

When she signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Frederick St, Dunedin working as a boot machinist.

She married Peter Henry O’Rourke, a moulder, in 1893 and they had nine children.

The family lived in the suburb of Caversham then Maitland St in Central Dunedin where Josephine died on 5 December 1926.

Peter died in 1939, they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
