This is engineer F.W. Furkert’s 1933 plan for extending Ōamaru's breakwater by 268 metres to give the harbour a draft of 6.7 metres at low water. Work began on the Ramsay Extension, but it was capped off unfinished during the Second World War and left to deteriorate.
