Mary Anne Mills was born in 1870 to Thomas Mills and Isabella Walker Hamilton.
In 1893 she was working as a machinist and living in Helena St with her mother Isabella and brother William, her father had died in 1888.
Mary married George Broadbent, an electrical worker in 1912, the couple later moved to Wellington and George became a greenkeeper. George died in 1934 and Mary Anne on 7 July 1943. They were both cremated at the Karori Crematorium.
