On 15 September Wendy Mayes disappeared after meeting with John Maltby for an interview as a photographer’s model. Maltby was the main suspect, but while under police surveillance he escaped into the bush. His body washed ashore at Island Bay on 24 September; Wendy Mayes’ body was never found. Read more.
