The highest peak of the Sari Bair Range, this was possibly the most important tactical feature on Gallipoli Peninsula. Named because of its height ( 971 feet), it was known to the Ottomans as Koja Chemen Tepe. Objective of the left assaulting force during the Sari Bair offensive in August 1915.
