Notes:

This person was my late grandfather, Brown was not his real name. He was William John Bayliss born in Kelso, Bathurst New South Wales Australia in April 1866. He died 22/7/1927 at Gisborne and is buried in the Taruheru cemetery -  his grave has no headstone.

He married in 1906 under his proper name of Bayliss and sometime about 1914 so family history has it  the name Brown Bayliss was adopted.

His enlistment form states his age as 31 years it was nearer 35.

So far family research has not uncovered the reason for him to have used a false name.

yours faithfully
DL Brown Bayliss
